Hi, so, this is one of those guide-to-this-journal sort of things. Lurkers, new people feel free to give a wave, etc. *waves*

Where I keep things:
a. Guide to my journal, fic index, memes, tags, etc. And incidentally, why my lj name is a gimped octopus.
b. Index of (most) of my fic.
c. Tags because I don't index my art, but if you look under 'a', you'll see several art tags.
d. art commissions: the comm squidfaces and its info post.
d. and finally, my policy on coloring or altering my art (for icons, etc).

First, a note: I'm pentapus on dreamwidth (this post, and most others since april this year have been crossposted on lj and dw). With the idea that one day I'll be mostly dreamwidth based and with me fading out of SGA, I trimmed the lj flist down to journals I sort of know*/read. All fannish content on this journal is unlocked, so there isn't anything to miss.

But in other news, here is Today's 20 min 30 minute picture. It wasn't really anybody in particular, except that I colored her hair auburn and drew a rocket ship. So, in my world, that would make her Mia Koji of Ronin Warriors (the rocket ship totally makes this a Rowen/Mia picture somehow. Like I said -- my world), but that's totally optional.





*(or who once told a story about finding their grandmother's vibrator. Flist trimming is not an exact science, I admit).

Took prompts for pictures drawn in 20 minutes last Thursday.

I think that went well, yeah? So, round 2.

Same fandom rules apply, i.e. various, including but not limited to most of the standard big fandoms, old and new -- SPN, Merlin, SGA, highlander, RW/YST, and the yuletide fandoms I recognized.

I've started school and stopped drawing. (Or writing for that matter). Being the slowest of the slow -- at chibis, sheesh -- is no longer convenient.

In which case, I call this 20 minute drawing day and would like to ask for prompts.

Hello, hello! I mentioned that I was sad when my true love, Ronin Warriors/Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, was rejected from yuletide this year. There are few people on my flist who also know the show, so:

Flist to the rescue: eliyes has created songoftheyoroi, a comm for yst fic and possibly (hopefully) for a yst fic exchange. (On a side note, the comm has a post to collect links for fic exchanges for rejected yuletide fandoms here.)

There may be time for a little January fic exchange to ride the wave of yuletide cheer...

First off, thank you for signing up to write some of my favorite wee fandoms. Every fandom I requested this year is a fandom in which any story, of any shape or size or cast will make me happy. So go where inspiration takes you!

I threw a number of prompts at you because I know for me, “Write anything!” is the most difficult thing to write. I hope I gave you something you could get a grip on, or at least some clues about my favorites kinds of stories.

I am immensely, unnecessarily depressed right now. It's a little silly, and yet no less sad.

My first fandom, the fandom of my heart is not on the yuletide list. It made it in last year -- hence my spending most of the summer and fall happily plotting -- but this year, it was rejected. I think because once upon a time it was a large fandom, and there was no one around to say, "No, no, that stuff on ff.net is all old! I promise!" The yuletide process is a bit of a mystery to me, so I know I wasn't. I'd learned just enough to make sure I nominated it. Sigh. Misery.

I got by before RW/YST made it into Yuletide, of course, and there are so many shiny fandoms that did get in -- but this one was mine, y'know? I mean, you guys get that sort of feeling. We'll just see if I'm un-depressed enough before sign ups end.

The weirdest part about lacking a fandom is that I don't know who to draw silly pictures of during ill-advised bouts of procrastination. I got nothing.

I think I need some kind of fandom pimping service.

There is a worrying correlation between the length of my to-do list and number of posts per day.

About a day after moving in, we lost the cat. Then we found the cat. He'd never done this before (or after), but apparently the stress of a new house required 2 days of hiding under the covers. Heh.

We'd searched every room and ended up in the room with the air mattress my mother was using. Next we were going to have to consider the possibility that he'd gotten outside.
I said, "Well, unless he's this lump under the--"
Lump: *twitches*
Me: Wow. It is him.
Mom: Haha.
Me: *lifts covers*
Mom: Oh, I thought you were joking!

New laptop is not a tablet pc, so I had to get a wacom as well as a new computer. I haven't used one of these in a while, hence I was a bit rusty. Morgana took... a while, and she's laughing at me, but I think I could eventually get the hang of this. Castiel, on the other hand, might never forgive me.

I did not look up what color Eomer Karl Urban's eyes are because my new computer just arrived. (!!!!) In other words, I should name it Bones and dress up as Kirk in this picture. The only other thing I would say is that I have no idea what is going on in this picture. Later, dudes.

So I made this resolution not to post until I had a picture to go with it. That's going well so far.
