Hi, so, this is one of those guide-to-this-journal sort of things. Lurkers, new people feel free to give a wave, etc. *waves*

Where I keep things:
a. Guide to my journal, fic index, memes, tags, etc. And incidentally, why my lj name is a gimped octopus.
b. Index of (most) of my fic.
c. Tags because I don't index my art, but if you look under 'a', you'll see several art tags.
d. art commissions: the comm squidfaces and its info post.
d. and finally, my policy on coloring or altering my art (for icons, etc).

My sister and I are preparing a Family Feud style game for our Fourth of July pub crawl (which will be Top Gun themed and accordingly, have call signs, toy planes, and t-shirts with F-14s).

So, a soccer game. A ball heading out bounces back in due to unexpected top spin. I, having given up on it, am no longer in range to get possession. Instead of "Damn it!", I say -- quite by accident and in the same tone -- "Never give up; never surrender!"

That probably sounded a little creepy to the girl chasing the ball with me.

Ok, guys, I'm bugging out for a few weeks of travel. And to play in Australian Nationals for Ultimate Frisbee. Which, I have been sort of downplaying, but !!! it is kind of awesome! I never got to go to Nationals in the states. (There are a lot more people in the states, and a lot more teams, but I'm not focusing on that, ok?)

As for the Redshirts, I will be mailing out shirts for everyone who's paid up tomorrow morning. If you haven't paid by 7 am my time (3 pm US East Coast time) shipping won't happen until after next weekend, sorry! There are still 5 shirts left, mediums and larges only. Thanks to everyone who's bought a shirt or just stopped by to snicker at the design. :)

Due to a number of retracted RSVPS, we've been left with 25 extra shirts in varying sizes. I'd like to make up some of the cost of making the shirts and to get these things out of my room, so I'm putting them up for sale.

Preparing for my party on Saturday by making tribbles. Lots of tribbles. 8 down, Ninety bajillion to go. I'm piling the finished alien poofs on the Tardis I made out of cardboard (which will be hung to cover the door). :P

Ok, so we in the apartment are having a costume party, and we've told everyone that if they show up without, one will be provided for them. We're turning the apartment door into a Tardis and scattering tribbles about the place. In light of that mixed Sci-Fi theme, our default costume:

On a side note, I'm sorry there hasn't been any art here except commmissions for a while. I sort of ill-advisedly signed up to write for the Merlin Big Bang, boxofmagic. So, we'll... uh... see how that turns out.

So, after I asked if there were any fangirls in Australia, I almost immediately discovered that I will probably be going to Japan in May, locations still not certain. Is there anybody on my flist located in Japan?

Hey, so, I am heading into the last half of my time here, and I am starting to plan last minute "Shit! I'm going home!" travels, so I was wondering if I could take a sort of informal Australian roll call? I am in Victoria currently*, and I will be in Perth for a week starting April 22. At some point, I'll make it up to Queensland, and at some other point, Sydney. My planning... it is not really... complex .

*Who wants to go to the footy?!?! Our first trip to Oz, my family was on a plane with the Collingwood Magpies. Not that we spoke to them or had any idea what sport they were supposed to be. But we have to be fans, you know?

Last year I signed up for Sweet Charity for the first time, and ended up drawing some fourth doctor fanart for harriet_spy.



I've signed up again this year, under graphics. There are a hella lot of cool people signed up, so stop by and have a look. The auction runs from March 28th to March 31st, and all proceeds benefit RAINN.
